Chinese e-commerce websites have eliminated Dolce & Gabbana products amid a spiralling backlash after a set of advertisements which were condemned as”racist” by actors and on social networking.

NetEase Inc e-commerce stage Kaola verified it had eliminated Dolce & Gabbana goods while luxury goods merchant Secoo stated it eliminated the brand’s listings on Wednesday evening.

Checks performed by Reuters on Thursday morning revealed pages that formerly connected to Dolce & Gabbana goods on the e-commerce websites hosted by Alibaba Group Holding Ltd and JD.com Inc were no more accessible and searches to the newest returned no goods.

Alibaba and JD.com didn’t respond to requests for comment.

Before this week, the newest published a set of commercials where a Chinese girl struggles to eat pizza and spaghetti with chopsticks, sparking criticism on social networking.

The business later apologized in a statement on Weibo, stating both Gabbana’s along with also the brand’s accounts were hacked.

The company didn’t respond to requests for comment on the e-commerce listings.
